UK shop prices are rising again

UK shop prices are rising again — marking the biggest increase since April 2024, according to the British Retail Consortium.

After months of easing inflation, July saw a 0.1% uptick in shop prices, driven largely by higher food costs and poor weather impacting clothing sales. Non-food inflation returned to positive territory, while food prices rose by 3.7%.
